Michael Portman, ‘writer turned barbershop owner’, is a well-rounded copywriter, speechwriter, screenwriter, hair product founder of Verb Products, and barbershop owner of Austin’s award-winning Bird’s Barbershop.

Bird’s has been voted and named ‘Austin’s Best Barbershop’ in The Austin Chronicle year after year since being founded in 2006. Their newly updated barbershop on East 6th opened in March 2024 and marks their 9th location in Austin.
